In the past year, I  have been especially interested in the effects of the ongoing Middle East wars on our own country.   In woman’s work,  the ancient theme of women at home, knitting and stitching, waiting for their men away at war resonates even today. The added irony of the Hummer logo complicates the simple dynamic of home and battlefield.
